My DS, who is 7months old, has started sucking his thumb in between bites of food. It doesn't impede his eating but it's a little weird and definitely slows things down. He does it with his favourite foods, least favourite foods, there is no descrimination. Has anyone else experienced this?

Dd1 did that for ages. For months i would take her thumb out, put food in, and then she'd stick her thumb back in. She eventually stopped. :)

Oh thank goodness! I'm glad it's not just my LO being a little weirdo ;D Do you know why they do it? Thirsty? Stressed out?

I have no idea! I think she was just so intent on sucking her thumb that it didn't matter if there was food there! She just turned 9, so now I can remember it like, "awww, how sweet!"

Haha! ;D My LO is also an avid thumb sucker so I'll just take it as a dedicated effort.

My DD does this and I think it just helps the food go down.
