Start solids at 4 months- food allergy?
« on: September 11, 2006, 22:48:11 pm »
I was wondering if anyone had experience with food allergies in LO that start solids early.  My LO was very fussy as a little newborn and my MDs attributed to reflux.  I took him to a GI doctor and he told me to mix his breastmilk with cereal to decrease his spitting up when he was 2 months old. I tried that for one week and saw no difference so I stopped it.  Now that he is 4 months, I have been told by peds that I can start solid because he has reached the weight to do so.  I have ony offered him the cereal that he had 2 months ago, but this time is with a spoon.

I am kind of worry about starting other solids.  I was wanting to at least 5 months to do so.  The problems is that he has been constipated and I have been told by MD that I could give him some apple juice/sauce or prune juice.  Can this cause food allergies later on?  What do you all think?
