Suddenly refusing to nap MMR related??
« on: January 25, 2007, 12:28:59 pm »
My 15mo always goes to sleep by herself for her nap, but recently sits and talks or plays before starting to grizzle then I go in and after a quick cuddle she will go down to sleep.  in fact she is starting to play up at night too, I am doing WI/WO which works quite quickly.  Her routine hasn't changed, nothing has changed, except she had MMR, anyone else with this experience?

Schedule

5am wake and usually back to sleep, sometimes plays up
6-7am wake
7 am breakfast
11am lunch
11.30-12 sleep (depending on when woke) 2 hours
2pm breastfeed on waking
3pm snack
5pm dinner
6.30 bath
7-7.30 breastfeed and bed

May be MMR but I would suspect that any effect would be temporary.  if it keeps up it might just be that her schedule needs tweaking--she may need a slightly later nap or something, see haow it goes and if she is still messing around before sleep times, post back.

When did she have the MMR.  After Alex had hers there were a few problems a week later and lasted for about a week.

THanks for the replies.  The problems started within 48 hours of the jab.  They got a bit better over the week although naps went from 2 to 1 hour.  Then yesterday at 9 days after it all went pear shaped again.  I think the different elements of the jab must kick in at different times.

What are you giving him?  Did the doctor recommend Calpol/tylenol?  How long did the doctor say that these after affects were going to last?
I would have thought that it's over with now and you should start looking at the routine and ensuring that it is working ok for you.
