how do i keep my 1 month old baby in his car seat?

my baby is 1 month 2 weeks old and every time i put him in his car seat he stays for a few minutes but then he starts to cry and he wont stop until i pick him up. i have tried putting him in other car seats but he doesnt like any of them. how do i make him stop crying, i cant go any where in the car alone with him.

my son was the same!!!
They grow out of it.
My son is now 6 MO and since he was 3 he has no problems with anymore.

Have you tried hanging anything from the handle for him to play with? I did this with my LO and it helped. Didn't completely solve the problem, but definitely helped. Now at 3.5 months, she's okay if the car is moving, but heaven forbid we have to stop for a red light or traffic!

I had a moose toy with dangling legs that I hung from the handle. Nick loved it.

We sing.  Stuff like ABC song and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.  Bust rest assured they do outgrow it.  Mine did.

Yup...my dd did this too.  Def hang stuff for him to look at. Also we put dd in her carseat a few times in the house, and sang songs, gave a bottle, to help her associate it with something fun.  If your lo has a touch of reflux, then the position could be an issue also....

zgulia- How is your lo doing, is he still fussy going in the car?
My son can't nap at all in the car, he can be dead tired that he wont go.

My secod fella, also with reflux, hated the car seat while the car was moving, but bizarrely, would stop crying once the car stopped. When he was 1 I got a new car and it was much better, although the new car may have been a coincidence.
