Teething: trouble with the bottle teat?
« on: August 25, 2010, 11:32:29 am »
Hi all

Please let me know if any of you ladies (or gents ;) ) have had trouble with your little one eating from their bottle. My LO in 5 months and has been on a hunger strike for a while now, he has a few sips of his bottle then starts squeezing the teat while trying to suck still then eventually just begins pushing the bottle the way. Cant understand whats going on >:(

Have you tried using a bigger size teat? Or perhaps a variflow?

Hi there, thank you for your quick reply

Yes I have tried bigger teats but no joy:( I have avent and dr brown bottles, I believe you can only get variflow for avent, I havent tried yet. But it looks as though the actual teat itself is bothering his mouth, he was fine with the same teats before but it just benn for the past month or so.

We always had probs at feed time whilst teething. Have you tried rubbing some teething gel on the gums about 20 mins or so before he's due a bottle?  :)
