Title: 2 yo BF still...advice
Post by: ele on December 19, 2016, 01:34:00 am
my DD is still BF mornings and before BT.
I don't mind too much, especially when she is sick or has a bad tummy. but it is getting exhausting....
at night time, she can suck for 45 minutes (well she takes brakes a little to talk to herself etc) and I am the one who kind of says, ok done. it's not often taken well.
what can I do to begin weaning her? I don't want her to stress over it and this being a point of collision between us, but I would like her to stop BF soon.
any advice on amicable weaning or how to at least cut that bed time BF.

If you weren't home at bedtime, if you were traveling for example, how would ahe fall asleep?

That might be a place to start.

Read the weaning FAQ to see what different strategies there are and see which you feel suits your family better.  Weaning

What I found really helped at that sort of age with my oldest 2 was moving the BF out of the bedroom and to a different part of the routine, say downstairs before stories or bath. And also getting my DH to put them to bed instead of me.
