Yesterday Ella & Jack had:
Breakfast: Weetabix/Cornflakes, Slice of toast, half a banana each
Snack: fruit bar
Lunch: Quorn and Cheese Sandwiches, tomato (refused!), Yoghurt & Fruit
Tea: Pasta with homemade tomato + veggie sauce, Jelly & Custard
Pre-Bedtime: Grapes and bread and butter!
I still cook up big batches of stuff and freeze them in pots. I find the kids either eat these, or else it's sandwiches, tins of beans or pizza!!
The kind of stuff I do (we're veggie), is courgette risotto, paella, aubergene casserole, baked bean chilli with veggie mince (real favorite), tofu + noodles, sausage casserole etc. If anyone wants any recipes I can post - mostly you could add some meat if you wanted I guess.
With sandwiches we quite often use plain tortillas as a change from normal bread, and the kids get to assemle and make their own. Also, I find buying plain pizzas and getting them to add their own toppings is a good way to sneak some veggies in.
The thing I really struggle with is desert - seem to have fallen into the yoghurt, fruit odd treat of jelly trap. I hate making puddings anyway - anyone got any ideas?
Clair - the only way Ella will eat cheese on toast is arranged in a flower shape with a splodge of ketchup in the middle - glad to see I'm not the only one!!!!!!
