Going from 3 hr to 4 hr schedule
« on: January 31, 2007, 16:04:57 pm »
Hi, my baby is almost 4 months old (on Feb 7th) and I'm still doing the 3 hr EASY, do you have any advice on how to/if I should switch her to 4 hr EASY. What are the benefits of this? She's still waking about twice a night, although I only feed her once and do shush/pat the other time. Here is her schedule on a typical day:

7am - wake & BF
Activity
8.30am - sleep for 1.5 hrs
10am - BF
activity
11am - nap for 1.5 hr
1pm - BF
activity
cap nap around 3pm for 45 mins or so
4pm - BF
6pm - bath, story
7pm - BF & bedtime
10pm - dreamfeed

I'm wondering if switching her to 4 hr EASY will help her sleep through the night? She's currently about 16lbs in weight I'm guessing although I won't know till our docs appointment next week. She was 12.5lbs at 2 month checkup and 6lb 8oz at birth.

Also do I switch her right to a 4 hr schedule or maybe transition to 3.5 hr for a week or so?

Thanks!

Welcome to the site!

Just beware of an approaching growth spurt (some babies hit one at 4 months).

I am going to pop this over to the EASY boards.  You can take a look at the FAQs there as well.

Proud to have breastfed for a combined total of 35 months

Here is a link - Time to Transition - When your lo is showing these types of signs, you will know that your lo is ready to transition.
