My 16 mo son has progressed from: great to bottle feed.... great to spoon feed with any mushed food.... to the pickiest independant eater. Today he ate:
8oz milk at 7:00 am
1/4 of a Bagel with marmite on at breakfast, none of the cereal on offer.
None of the fruit and juice at mid-morning snack time
None of the toast, fruit, cheese, raisins, biscuits at lunch time
None of the toast, pie, pasta, tomato, yoghurt at tea time
Half a digestive biscuit
4oz milk before bed
This isn't unnusual for the past month. Most days he'll eat yoghurt, but not always.
He insists on feeding himself.
I'm not worried that he'll starve; clearly he's doing okay (goodness knows how), and I figure that he will eat when he's hungry. But.......... it's so de-motivating. He has fearful tantrums if I try to help him with the spoon, or when it's just not what he's wanting.
Any supportive suggestions please??
Thank you.
