Please tell me sensitive tummy gets better!
« on: November 22, 2006, 18:25:14 pm »
My LO is nearly 11 months old - next week- and we're STILL having awful trouble with gas! He's fine as long as I keep to his VERY limited diet, but if I try anything new (carrots, apples, pears, green beans, etc.) then he's tossing and turning all night from gas. I was hoping that now that he's crawling and cruising furniture, the gas thing would get better. And I guess it has, since he only gets gassy on certain foods. But it's so hard to get him progressing with solids when I have to be so cautious about his food! At least he can eat yogurt and chicken for protein, and he can tolerate chicken and rice baby food, even though rice cereal was awful for him. But I still worry that he's going to become a picky eater if he doesn't learn to try new foods now. The sad thing is he'll eat anything I put in front of him, it's only later that we pay.

Argh!!! Anyone else have this issue? When did it get better? Am I just an idiot for trying to introduce new foods all the time? I know that when your child shows a sensitivity, you're supposed to reintroduce in a month, so that's why I've been trying known gassy foods again and again.  :P

i'm no expert but it does seem a little strange, r u sure he doesnt have any intollerance issues?
Have u tried infacol? have u noticed it getting particularly bad certain days/nights? maybe keeping a log of what he eats is a good way to track this, thats what we do

I know exactly what foods do it. We use Mylicon - which I think is similar to the medicine you mentioned. I gave him apples mixed with bananas, and sure enough he was rolling around all night.

i would def spk to your ped. We had mylicon too but realised now that it isnt that effective anymore, ped prescribed other drop for bad stomach cramps which totally sorted him out. See what ped says maybe ur LO needs something stronger.
