Title: Does going out in pram constitute activity or sleep?
Post by: kellielouise on February 03, 2006, 10:38:13 am
Hello,

I am new to this site and to BW itself.
My daughter is coming up tp 6 weeks old and we thought it was about time we implemented some kind of routine.
When we take her out, either in the car or pram she falls asleep - so, would the walk constitute activity (if she were awake for a few minutes which is rare!) or sleep?
If its sleep then does that mean we can only take her out anywhere when its sleep time?

I am confused by this so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

when Ethan was that age, i counted it as sleep and even walks and car rides as a helpful sleep inducer for daytime naps!  now that Ethan is bigger, i WISH this worked as well so it doesn't count anymore unless he actually falls asleep  :(
it makes running errands a breeze and means you can get out for some you time!

If she's sleeping, I'd say that's her nap for that cycle.  When my dd was real little, she'd do the same thing, so I'd do errands/go on walks/etc. during her nap time & then feed her when we got home.  Now she won't sleep when we're out, so walks & errands happen during her awake time & we're home in time for a nap.
