Title: Yogurt and Melon?
Post by: kal on October 25, 2005, 12:23:31 pm
I feel like maybe my almost 8 month old is getting bored with the food I'm giving him, does anyone know when they can have melon and yogurt? I have some plain, any ideas what I can mix in it?

too funny. dd2 is 8 mo and several days, and i was thinking the same thing - we actually gave her melon (canteloupe) for the first time today - i just gave it a whizz in my hand processor as it was not mushy.  she liked it.

yogurt is also fine now.  can mix in any pureed fruit for flavour

I just started giving bella yobaby yogurt and she loves it, just small amounts, I know there are lots of recipes out there but for some reason we always end up with the same things, every week i try to introduce something different.  Haven't tried the cantaloupe yet though:)

Melon is absolutely fine; full of vitamin C. Youghurt is fine too after six months; mix it with any fruit puree. Mine has it for breakfast mixed with banana, peach etc........ after her cereal.

Is any plain yogurt fine or do you need to use baby yogurt. I haven't been able to find any baby yogurt in my area...what's the difference?

Baby yoghurt is made from formula milk. I bought mine at Sainsbury, is is made by Danon. Normal yoghurt is fine as soon as you start giving your little one products made of cow milk, everyone decides this for themselves; I started at six months.
