Past the prime 2.5 hour A time.
« on: April 03, 2013, 18:06:48 pm »
Ok ladies.... What do you do when their awake time exceeds the 2.5hours? I know that V is nearing if not at the 3-2, but I cant remember how the routine changes since its no longer a perfect 4 hr EASY. Below is our day, but she is now able to handle 2hr45min A time, but it makes her naps too short.

7am WU 5.5oz
8am solids (cereal & fruit)
945am Nap
11am 5.5oz up from nap (sometimes only a 30-45min nap if its an out and about day/buggy nap)
12 noon solids (fruit veggie and yogurt)
145pm Nap
3pm WU from Nap 5.5oz
4pm Solids (veggies and meat and cereal)
515-545pm CN (wake after 30min, sometimes its only a 10min buggy snooze)
7pm 5.5oz
715pm bath
730pm BT

On days when she has a short morning nap in the buggy I let her sleep longer in the afternoon, but it messes up her food schedule and I generally skip her CN. But on the days when we are home and she takes a full nap in the crib its tough to get her to take a long afternoon nap and then its too long to BT without a CN.
Thoughts advice etc?
Melissa

It sounds like it's time for her to have a little bit more A time and to drop the CN. The naps you get now sound UT to me.
At this age when you have around 3h A time + 1.5-2h nap then your EASY cycle is no longer a 4h cycle, but whatever works for the baby.

Once she's on solids you no longer need to keep feeds exactly 4hrs apart either.
