So tonight at dinner Claire held up her sippy to "cheers" us!  YIPPEE.  It was so cute, at first we couldn't figure it out  ::) but we do it quite often and I guess she caught on.  We had our first family cheers.   :)

Love this thread!!

I love when Gaby gives her teddies hugs & then says 'awwww'.

Or when she pretend cries for her babies.

Or today when I came home with a bag full of new spring clothes (love Kohl's sales) and she took each item, held it up on the hanger and said 'preeeetteeee' then tried to put it over top the 3 or 4 outfits she already had on.

Or when I come home from work and she comes running to the door with the biggest smile on her face saying 'mommy, mommy, mommy' and bear hugs my legs.

Same with Freya, I LOVE when she sings or when I hum the 'Elmo's World' theme song and she says 'Elmo', or when I hum 'Mr. Sun' and she starts the hand gestures like on Barney. (really we dont watch THAT much TV).

Ok, I could go on forever, shutting up now. I love being a proud mommy :)

what I love is reading other people's posts and remembering my DS doing that at that age...( hey, 6 months makes a difference at this age! ;))

Scotty gives sloppy kisses and pinches your cheeks :)
He dances and sings and strokes the cat outside. He offers his bottle to sleeping Jenn and shares everything he's got...
He also repeats everything you say, it sounds so cute. He wants to be left alone in the morning and after his nap with his bottle and toys to do a jobby and he tells you when he's finished  ;D

He gives away his lovey when somebody seems upset and cuddles it in your face, he dances for boogie beebies and says hello to everybody who's around, especially people he doesn't know.

He gets tantrums when he doesn't get what he wants and while he has one he wants to have a cuddle to be sure he is still loved.

He gets upset when he has done something he wasn't allowed because he wants to please everybody (I am like that, too  ::) )

His blonde hair is sticking up in the wind and looks SOOOOOOO cute...

He puts his hands behind his back and his upper lip out and walks about like a wee gentleman or a butler and brings people things :)

he tries to put on his own shoes and understands almost everything we say to him...

He plays a game called "scary baby" where he raises his arms and we have to all scream and be scared and he loves it...

Love yer, Scottyman  :-* :-* :-*

Freya makes me laugh soooooooooooooo much - her most recent game is to 'hide' (usually under the table) and say "where's Freya gone?", and we have to say "is she in the porch - no, is she behind the door - no, is she by the fireplace - no, etc?" and she can play it endlessly, for hours!

This is ds's FAVOURITE game ever! He calls it More Boo :D He'll often disappear into the kitchen, and I'll hear 'MU-UMMY - More Boo!' - I have to go in, ignoring the giggling (he's the worst hider ever ;)) and 'look' for him - always in the same place, too :D

This is a lovely thread. I could bore you for hours, but I'll pick my faves

- When we tell him we love him, he'll reply with 'Ub u, Mummy' or 'Ub u, Daddy' :-*
- When we are out, he'll shout 'Hello Lady' or 'Hello Man' at top toddler volume to random strangers. He (ahem, usually) gets it right
- Since Christmas and his birthday, he thinks all parcels are for him - and opens them with a big 'WOW'
- Things must be 'right' here too - toilet seat must be down/cupboards closed/etc - luckily he'll do it himself ;)
- The running commentary I get when he's in the car - 'car', 'big truck', 'tree', 'sheep', 'horse', etc
- The singing and dancing is great fun here too :)
- Watching him fall asleep over the monitor - he talks to Teddy and Pooh Bear (my fave is 'oh Teddy, really' :D), and he'll also do a little mantra chant of the people he loves 'Mummy, Daddy, Nainy, Taidy, Nenny and Nannan' over and over until he's asleep :-*

OK, I'll stop now ;)
Caroline :)

Oh, I can't believe I forgot my favourite  ::)

He's really getting the hang of 'thank you', except it comes out as 'dank oo'. I'll get 'dank oo Mummy dum-dums' (dum dums are food), or 'dank oo Mummy dwink'. What reminded me was the postman's just been - he likes to shout 'dank oo man letters' out of the letterbox :D

You could be describing dd. Except, for the falling asleep part. Dd can't have anything anywhere around her or else she won't sleep.  ::) Her special hiding place is behind the curtain though.  :)

These are so good to read.  Here's another one I love:

DD's overprotectiveness.  When I'm drinking my coffee or tea, she'll urgently gush up to me to say, "Careful Mommy.  It's hot.  It's hot.  Blow Mommy blow." Or when I'm using a knife, "Careful Mommy.  Sharp knife.  Sharp knife give boo boo.  Careful."   ::)   :-* :-*

Ha ha - ds does this too - 'Oo, Mummy, hot hot hot' with the appropriate careful hand gesture. Sooooo cute :-*

Freya does a running commentary, but the best thing is when she states the obvious: "that's a cat" err, yes!

Oh, and the ritual of "hewo mummy", "hello darling", "hewo darwing" - bless!

And then when she gives you something, perhaps a cup of 'tea', she says "thank you mummy/daddy" to remind us to say thank you like we do to her!

Ahh, she's lovely!

Oh I love this! Makes me want to go home to my LO right NOW!

Here's my short list:

1. Wet, sloppy kisses - he puts a hand on either side of my face and then lays one on me - love that.
2. Hearing DS and DH giggling downstairs.
3. In the morning when I say it's time to go downstairs, put paci away...and he marches to his crib and tosses the paci through the slats.
4. his infatuation with his own (and other's) belly button
5. Waves bye to everyone and everything
6. When he's sleepy and ready for bed...he'll sit on my lap and rest his head on my chest. Mmmmm love that sweet toddler smell! :)

My DS has started squinting his eyes when he grins at me which is very cute. And those hugs.... it makes my heart sing. Maybe I should go and wake him up so that I can get another one!

This is a fun thread. Let's see:

- He runs after our cat and calls from the top of his lungs: "Missy, come back. Missy, come here."
- He comes to me, raises his hands and says: "Pick it up!"
- If he hears that somebody is in pain will inisit on giving kisses.
- Whenever we get on a highway, it's "Be careful, daddy."

And one of my favorites. We were visiting my parents, and I was putting him down to sleep. Since we were in a strange for him place, I stayed with him until he fell alseep. He was almost gone, I was just laying down, relaxed. Suddenly, out of blue, he jumped up and went "Pop goes the weasel".   ;D

I could go on, but will stop here. :)

Awww, this is a great thread  ;D

Colin absolutely loves to pet our cats, particularly the cranky one that has never forgiven us for bringing him home.  ::)  She lets him pet her for a moment and then get y and nips at him. Yesterday, he went to the kitchen and pulled a wooden spoon from the drawer (Colin's utensil play drawer that is) and crept up on her and started petting her with that! LOL! It was too funny.

When he gets excited about something and walks on his tiptoes  ;D

Every night when he says goodnight to DH by racing over, standing directly in front of him and waving furiously  ;D

When he doesn't want to eat something - he shoves it down next to him in the corner of the highchair, so I find it all when I pick him up.  ;D  ::)
