hi
we have just moved countries three weeks ago and my 10 month old has had a few adverse reactions. firstly, the expected one - runny poos!! Also, she developed excema quite quickly. we saw the dermatologist and he put her on steriod cream and i have to do the daily 'diprobase' routine that i do with my toddler (who also has excema) - ie, all over her body twice a day. then she developed a nasty red bottom, so i saw a paediatrician who said it was nappy rash and may also be fungal infection so now as well we have another cream for the bottom and barrier cream. also we have a 10 day course of pro-biotic capsules to put in her drink to try and sort out her dodgy tummy ( which no doubt led to her sore bottom) and also she has to be milk free for at least a week. the paed advised us to switch to a lactose free formula and then slowly reintroduce milk products to see if it is causing a problem.
so, after that long intro, can i give soya milk to a baby under a year? not to drink but to mix in cereals or with other foods? what about other soya products like yogurts? my little one is looking longingly at her older sisters yogurts and i feel awful. also im running out of ideas of what to give her to eat.
funny ive always wondered if my daughter was allergic to something, because her poos have always been so loose, never formed - is this usual in the case of allergies? we stopped the milk on thursday so its only been three days so far, so im not sure how long this may take to sort out. any advise or comments would be appreciated.
thanks
