How long should a "day" be for a 12 week old?
« on: December 17, 2013, 05:07:28 am »
Is it possible for a 12 week old to "operate" on an 11 hour day? I know the goal is to be up for no longer than 12 hours but it seems like he doesn't want to go to sleep at the 12 hour mark. I'm curious what the thoughts are on this.

Thx.

We'd normally aim for a 12h day at this age - 13h night sleep is a big ask - but if a short day and long night seems to be what your LO wants and needs I can't see it's a problem.  What are naps like?  I can imagine if they are short or not great then a shorter day may be appropriate.  Did you want to post your EASY or are you already having some help with it?

Thanks! We're doing well on the EASY, I was just curious. Sometimes he wakes earlier than his "12 hr" night should allow. It hasn't created a lot of problems, I just wanted to get some thoughts.
