Hello:
So does he have actual celiac disease or just all the symptoms? I remember talking to you about that before.
I have done a lot of reading about celiac, because I have all the symptoms myself (but tested negative). Anyhow, they say that some celiac's can handle oats just fine, but others still cannot because it is in the same family as wheat.
Tyler (my 10 mos) old gets a huge rash on his face from oats, but tested negative. I bought a cereal called Perky O's. It is made from sorghum flour. They look just like cherrios.
With the formula. I think you should just keep him on it. I wish I had with my first son, because we had a very bad transition to milk.
With Tyler (well he is almost 11 months now). I am keeping him on Nutramigen for AS LONG AS I CAN. Notice, I typed that big, because I know he is getting his vitamins, calcium, everything he needs.
Personally there really is not that much difference in the next step formula. The only real difference I saw was, it has more calcium and a few more of the vitamins/minerals are higher or lower.
If it were me, I would just keep on what you are giving him.
Hugs, Wendy
