Hi ladies - not been around for a while . . . some of you will know that I've had to deal with some other stuff  :(

Have been popping on to see what the little folk have been eating - and they're doing well  ;D

Cathie, I do have to say that I'm amazed at what your little man puts away - he seems to eat anything and everything! (That's a compliment BTW  ;)) I think Alice does quite well with amounts and variety - but Nick puts her to shame LOL.

Anyway - here's what A has eaten today

At home:
B: Porridge with raisins, asked for satsuma but played with it rather than ate it  ::), diluted OJ

At CM:
S: raisins and milk
L: chicken, mash, carrots, broccoli, yorkshire pudding, gravy, yoghurt and milk
S: chocolate bun and milk
S: banana and milk

At home:
D: home-made cabbage and bean soup, slice of toast, blueberries, water, few mini raisin biscuits, milk

Also found humzinger bars in Sainsburys today (thanks for recommendation - Liz?). Just wondered if there are different varieties - thought they were 'cereal' bars but the ones I got were more or less pure fruit (which isn't a bad thing at all  ;)) but was just expecting some oaty / cereal type of snack.

LOL Berni! He IS a good eater- it's truly a spirited trait, yes? Your Alice has an excellent variety of foods she'll eat too!
WHat is Yorkshire Pudding? I've always wondered!
Today Nick ate:
B: apple oatmeal, banana, milk
S:hot cocoa
L:chicken and cheese sandwich, strawberries, mixed veggies, milk
S:granola bar and juice
D: at the hospital with me and DH- ground meat/tomato/taco casserole thingee, rice, honeydew melon, grapes, milk, bite of turkey.
bedtime S: asked for a banana and milk.

Little dude is surprising me today! I think he might be having a growth spurt of sorts, he spent so much of yesterday grumping, then going straight to the pantry.

Amazingly he ate a whole large jar of organic mango and rice pudding!  We went to the supermarket and they had samples of watermelon and babybel cheeses and he ate both!  Watermelon can be hit and miss and he's refused babybels in the past. Needless to say I was so chuffed I bought some of each!

he's eating so many new foods the last 2 days it's amazing, he tried then ate fetta cheese and olive, he tried carrot again but didn't eat. So chuffed! He also ate fried egg (we usually have it scrambled and he's not big on changes to his eating).

B weetbix, weetbix bites, milk with added formula
S jar of mango and rice pudding, 1/2 banana
S freddo frog, watermelon and babybel cheese
L fetta cheese, baked beans, toast
S will be babybel cheese, popcorn, grapes.
D whatever falls out of the pantry and hits me  :P

I think I need to make a sheet for DH to fill out so I know what DD is eating each day. Otherwise I have to make him try to recall everything to give me a run down each night.

Haven't posted in ages because it's been a lot of same-same here! :(

But, we did get him to eat a bowl of tomato soup the other day and he really liked it so I was thrilled with that, and we had pasta with tuna and pesto the other night and he ate that as well- he likes the pesto but won't even look at fish, so getting the tuna into him was HUGE for me!

He's so anti-new things that today when I tried to give him a spoonful of honey for his cough he wouldn't touch it...until I told him it was chocolate, and then he stopped dead in his tracks and beelined it right back to me with his mouth hanging open.  ::)  A bit cruel I suppose but he was pleasantly surprised with the honey, and at least now when he asks for chocolate I can pass it off with letting him stick his finger in the honey jar  ;D

i'm in canada...but tater tots are a convenience food - like french fries that come frozen...they are bites of potato breaded, different shape than french fries or chips as you probably call them in britain.  fruit cup is a cup of cut up fruit but also a convenience item that you would buy premade and doesn't need to be refridgerated.

what are weetabix?  is it a cereal?  my lo won't do cereal and milk...breakfast would be much more convenient if she would!

ummm, if it's the same thing my Mom makes with roast beef, then this is it...yummy!

 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yorkshire_pudding

Have no idea on Spencer's menu the last few days...daycare, but for supper the other night she devoured a packaged mix of a cajun style rice and beans...odd because won't eat rice or beans separately and it was too spicy for me to eat! She ste her portion and mine too!

yes, and what is yorkshire pudding???

Sorry I didn't get on sooner  ;)

It is the same thing as Heidi thinks it is - Roast Beef and Yorskhire Pudding is the 'traditional dish' as it were, but we tend to have it with most roast dinners. It's basically pancake batter that you bake in the oven - I totally LOVE it but then I'm a Yorkshire Lass so am biased LOL.

We sometimes had it as a pudding as kids - my gran used to make a HUGE one in a baking tray (rather than individual muffin tray ones) and we'd have a big piece with jam, or some type of conserve (lemon or orange curd, etc).

You can also turn it into 'toad in the hole' - bake it in a tray with sausages in the batter - also very yummy  ;D

what are weetabix?  is it a cereal?  my lo won't do cereal and milk...breakfast would be much more convenient if she would!

yes it is a cereal - I thought you could get weetabix everywhere but with a different brand name maybe? Adding a visual for you HTH  :)
the 'biscuits' tend to go mushy when you put milk on them, iykwim?

Ug - we're having a rough week eating wise.  Have teething (1st molar has been on the way out for at least a month but seems to be nearly poking through now) and a cold to contend with but even so there have been a large number of things that he normally loves that he is point blank refusing now!

So today so far...
B - flesh from a plum chewed up, spat out and thrown on the floor, Readybrek (fed him), 1/4 slice of toast and jam that joined the plum on the floor.

Then he whined all the way round the supermarket because he wanted a snack so had a few yoghurt coated raisins.
L - pasta with tomato, salami and courgette (he did eat this but it's probably his fav dinner - we're at mum's tonight so he will prob not eat very much there hence dinner at lunch today)

S - will be whatever I can get him to eat!

D - no idea!
