Growth Spurt at 11 mo?
« on: October 04, 2008, 06:05:58 am »
Hi,

Since Monday my 11 mo lo has been eating and drinking for England.  He has devoured all solid food given to him and drained all bottles of milk.  He has also been drinking lots of water.  Secretly quite pleased as tummy bugs and teething have taken their toll recently so  glad his appetite is back again.  However, he has now started feeding twice in the night again!  We had got it down to just one bottle over the last month or so (he still needs this feed as he drains the bottle).

6am Wake up and feed (drains 8oz)
7.30 Cereal and toast
10.30am 4oz of milk
12.00 Meat/Fish and veg, bread/crackers and fruit
2.30pm 5-6oz of milk
4.30pm Sandwiches/muffins, yoghurt/rice pudding
6.30pm 7-11 oz of milk

Usually wakes for a feed sometime between 10.30pm and 1.30am.

Is this a growth spurt?  Or just the norm now that he has his appetite back?  How do I get enough into him so that he still only needs one feed at night without compromising the amount of solids he eats?  Do I need to re-jig my routine?  How do I get more solids into him?

Many thanks in advance

Jo x

Sounds like it to me.  With my LO it usually lasted 2 days if she was going through a growth spurt before returning to her normal eating.
