Title: Moving from Breast Feeding to Bottle Feeding
Post by: Jennymc on August 01, 2006, 12:26:12 pm
Hey

My son Daniel is 6 months old and, as I am going back to work in 6 weeks, I want to introduce formula milk during the day whilst continuing to BF in the morning and evening.  I have tried giving him a bottle of formula but he point blankly refuses to accept it, I have tried different brands of milk also but still no joy.  Has anyone got any advice they could share with me????  :-\

Hi Jenny
As your question is about the bottle-feeding aspect rather than the breastfeeding aspect I've moved it to this board - hope that makes sense.

There are stickies on both our boards about encouraging babies to take a bottle. Have you checked those out?

Does he take a bottle with ebm in it? If so, you could mix it with the formula and then gradually increase quantities of the formula.

I'm sure the ladies on this board will have experience to share.

Hi Jen

Here is Tracy's guide to introducing a bottle to an exclusively breastfed baby;

Please let me know if this is of any use to use and I can make it a sticky somewhere.

Emma - do you have this posted anywhere?
