Hello Ladies,
Well, it seems as though things are busy busy around here again! Aothough I have noticed a lack of Judy yesterday and hope you are feeling OK - STREP, YIKES!!
As for food here, Sophie had lost interest in pureed meals, it is all finger foods here except breakfast. I am still managing to get a jar of veg in a day which is good. The problem with finger foods is that it takes her about 9 hours to eat a meal  ! Our food day yesterday
7AM - Cereal mixed with formula and fruit puree, followed by a 6 oz bottle
11AM - Cheesy penne noodles, roast chicken breast (cut in strips), toast 1/2 jar of squash and 1/2 a banana. Followed by a 6oz bottle
3PM - 6oz bottle
5PM - egg (cut into strips), toast with cheese, other 1/2 of squash jar, mardarin orange segments and 1/2 banana
7PM 8 oz bottle before bed
We also feed Sophie snacks when we are out. Suction bottom bowls with cheerios or veggie puffs. She also tries whatever we are having. She is getting better at feeding herself anf it doesn't quite take 9 hours but it was so much simpler when I could just shovel it in. I also have started making things aat the beginning of the week, ie: made a pot of penne, roast some veggies and roast some chicken breasts to use for the week. I reheat the noodles in hot water and then use the hot water as a "double boiler" to mix in cheese and milk to make cheesy noodles. also I have been buying canned fruit in water (mandarin oranges) ect. I will also cut up fresh fruits days in advance which DH and I snack on too
!
As for SA, Sophie has good days and bad days, less bad days now that the teething has slowed down but...
YES BEC it can be so exhausting, namely emotionally. You get on here and unload all ya want. PS even your rants are funny and make me giggle!
When my SIL and MIL came to visit ages ago they brought a walker for my nephew and left it with us. I had forgotten about it until we moved. One day Sophie would not let me leave her side, water works and screaming and she didn;t like her exersaucer anymore. I busted out the walker and she loves it! It took a few days to learn how to "drive" but now she follows me around when she wants or explores the house, we have no stairs so I don;t have to really watch her in it either. I try not to put her in it too often so she can keep figuring out the crawling but it sure does come in handy!
DH is back to work today phewww... Love hime to bits and it was nice having him home but talk about a mess! Anyone else find this - I have spent the last week cleaning non stop and finally put 2 and 2 together yesterday and told him he was a slob   .
Naomi - I agree that out of site out of mind is a good strategy, I do not buy junk food and it seems to help. I don't think nagging will work, it never does but a serious sit down objective conversation on the benfits of eating healthy as a family might. I know how you feel, my DH smokes, ughhhhh! I am an ex smoker so know how hard it is to quit but hey if I can do it so can he! I refuse to nag him about it but will say something if he goes around Sophie smelling like smoke ect... I tell him his habits are his but I don't want Sophie smelling like an ashtray and he needs to have a wash and brush his teeth. The only thing I asked him for for Xmas was for him to quit smoking, hmm didn;t get it but he didn;t smoke at home the last week so that is a huge step. I have once sat him down and had a 'chat' with him about it. I told him I wanted Sophie to have her dad to walk her down the aisle and that I needed him to be here for me when we retire, that I want to travel and be active when our kids are grown so we can fun together, not be dead or sickly. I know, probably laid it on a bit thick but it is how I felt and he didn;t get defensive or anything, he said he understood and would try his hardest to quit.
Hannah - I don't know what to tell you about the bum rash. Maybe naked time? I usually do with Sophie everyday - we did an hour yesterday, waiting to go on the potty but nothing - she loves it though!
Nancy - I am sure Liv will get back into her routine!
I should have taken notes.. I got nuthin' else.
