Hugs murphy76 and well done.

You stayed with him. That's the most important thing. So he knows you love him. Hope it's a bit quicker for you tonight

Hey guys,

I hate to jinx it but last night was a lot better, I stayed with him for only half an hour and he didn't kick off when I put him in the cot, and I crept out when he was asleep.

Previous night no NW, last night he cried out and I went in, gave him a few sips of water and he went over....

Going to try and replicate today what we did last night, especially the timings.

So let's see how we go, but 2 nights in a row without giving in has certainly given me the confidence that it can be done.

Thanks for the support guys, hoping for three in a row!

Just a quick update, friday night was 50 mins and last night 30, still not loving it but hopefully he is getting closer to the realisation that it's happening and he may ascwellmgo with it!

He's in great form during the day and we really can't complain, hopefully the day comes when he goes back to going down himself without me in the room, I'm sure that'll come and in the meantime I'm just pleased he's been less upset.

Fingers crossed it continues to go as well as the last few nights anyway!

He's still not loving DH so I'm the one doing it at the moment and when this little phase passes we can get back to both of us being able to put him down. Hopefully soon

Wu: 630am

Nap: 1230-220/30pm

BT: 730pm

Asleep 8-830pm

He has been sleep thru the night, the odd brief cry out but then practically straight over

He's always slept roughly 10.5 hr nights so we're well used to that.

Wind down starts with bath at 630pm then downstairs for milk, bit of tv in a darkened room before up to the cot at 730pm as I said

Not the most conventional time wise but it's working so far

Last two nights have been 30mins or less going down, he is still looking for me during the first 15mins even when lying down but he isnt upset which is the main thing.

we had our first NW in a week last night, 2.5hrs but we are convinced it was teething so not reading too much into it. think it will go on/off for a bit so its just getting through it like most. he was pretty upset the wee pet but i stayed with him and eventually he went over.

Key thing today will be hopefully he gets his big sleep in the creche and instead of the normal 7.30pm bedtime i might put him down 30mins earlier as i am sure he'll be knackered as last night was only a 9hr sleep for him. hopefully we can avoid the OT cycle and he fancies a full night tonight!
