Routine Disrupted at Babysitter's
« on: January 07, 2006, 05:03:08 am »
I finally got my 8 month old dd on the 4 hr routine + solids at regular mealtimes during the 2 week Christmas break but it's all disrupted now that I've started work again and have to leave the baby at the babysitter's house.  The babysitter has just agreed to take care of another kid who's 2 years old.  And she told me that this little girl cries a lot and every time she cries, my dd wakes up crying.  So she's only been able to take 30-45 min naps, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.  I'm worried that she may not be having enough sleep.  She used to go to bed at 7:30pm but now she won't sleep till 8:30 or 9.

How should I deal with this?  I really like the lady who's babysitting my baby.  So far, she's the only one who can get my dd to eat and sleep properly (my baby's quite spirited), that is till the appearance of the new kid.  Sigh...

Routine Disrupted at Babysitter's

Any way that the two children can sleep in separate rooms?  I've been working on sleep issues as well during my winter break and I've been trying to figure out how to explain it all to the babysitter.  Good luck!

According to the babysitter, they're sleeping in separate rooms and somehow my baby can still hear the other little girl's cries.  Yesterday, my lo only had 45 min of nap and today's was an hour!  I think it's affecting her sleep at night because she sleeps later now and is awake from 2-5 am, trying very hard to find a good position to sleep in.  As a last resort, I even tried nursing her, hoping tha she would fall asleep but it doesn't even work!
