You are doing amazing hun. I remember all the analysing in the early days of BFing hoping all is ok. Also sending stay-away-reflux-vibes.

Hugs lovely lady :-*

Ugh, 3 hr A time today ::) well in and out of CN sleep. He has pain. I don't know if its wind from my OALD, gas or reflux ??? I feel a bit lost. I've tried to wind. He's had hiccups...thought I'd be more onto it than this :(

Hmm, if it's reflux, would being upright help?  Is he spitting up at all?  That was how dd2 showed that I had OALD.

He settles best for sleep during her day in the baby seat so yes, elevated. He prefers side sleeping...to the point if sometimes he's on his back not settling/sleeping the sec I move him to his side he's asleep. ...

Spits up a little...not too fussy on the breast but definitely uncomfortable after. My gut says its more wind/gas I can't get out KWIM...tum goes tight.

We also get this like every 2 day...like a good day bad day. Maybe I should cut out gassy foods?

I would trust yourself then!  The inconsistency does sound more like gas/wind than reflux (for what little I know....) -- what about things like those drops (can't remember what they're called) -- did we talk about this already, I lose track sometimes!  DH was always my champion burper when my LOs were tiny, he'd put them on his knee with his hand under their chins and rub and rub their little backs (down low, opposite their tummies) and they'd always manage to burp for him, even when I had no luck for what seemed like ages!

:-* we have gripe water, it helps but T seems more resistant than Z to getting them out ::)
Lol yes DH was our champ burper with Z but even he struggles with T.

We can get infacol here, or gas drops? Haven't tried drops? Infacol only used with Z once he had a bottle and was much older. How do I do infacol with BF...actually I'll google it!

Logan did well lying on his tummy with his legs bunched up under him on a raised mattress when he was little and we couldn't get burps out. Obviously you watch LO like a hawk (I would put him like that while I expressed his next meal ;) )

I always found with DD that if I couldn't get wind up it just went down and that was where we had problems.  She then struggled to move it and was uncomfortable.

In the UK Infacol comes in the form of drops, so you just fill the dropper with the stuff and give it before the feed (as I recall).  No idea how it comes in NZ, though :-\  DS's paed (for his reflux) wasn't keen on using it and described it as "harsh".  I really feel it exacerbated reflux symptoms in DS as the gas bubbles in his tummy got so big that they then pushed up his milk :(

As for gassy foods, some people certainly do find that some foods seem to have an affect on LO, but there's also the suggestion that a reduction in "gassy" foods will simply reduce the amount of wind mum has rather than baby as there's little hard evidence that anything in those foods that causes wind can cross into the blood/milk in order to give issues.

Mmmm may stick with the gripe for now then, it kind of works. However, I think we seem to be having the gas issue you described your Dd got.

My LD is insane, no matter what I do it's like a fire hose :( I'm expressing it onto a towel but its still nuts. There's no way to slow it a it comes down is there?

Bec - tried your trick last night but T wasn't having it ::) we ended up with him in the wrap ;)

Really only by reducing supply which is a wait and see game - leaves it forceful but the volume is lower so its not quite so hard to deal with; and
lying back - I have been known to lie down on my back on a hill in a park and have DS lie on me for a feed. Got some strange looks :P I regularly fed in a recliner chair - sitting up with the legs out ready to push back the minute he latched.

Ah well, it was worth a try.

In a few weeks, if you've still got crazy oversupply, you can do some block feeding to try and bring it down, but for now, it's too early to be messing with supply.  (((hugs))), you'll get there.  :)
