Forum Upgrade - Issues

Hi - I've just gone to search for 'jet lag' posts but it says that I'm not allowed to search for posts. I'm a member so I didn't think there were any further restrictions. Is this a technical glitch?

This feature had to be disabled long before our upgrade.  I honestly can't remember why, but it was a necessary move.  Hopefully with this latest upgrade, we can renewable the search function.

it was disabled because all the searches were crashing the database.  it also never worked right; usually only looks for threads 3+ years old!     hopefully that got fixed with the upgrade!!

I'm not sure I know how to turn it on again, so hopefully Tom does!

When you pOst a link it's staying as the link rather than the post title like it used to.

RE the search. We cannot enable it just yet, but the upgrade has gotten rid of the major roadblock. There is a separate search engine that will be installed (Don't worry, it's still fully integrated with the site), that will handle search. This is not compatible with the old version of the forums and is one of the major reasons we did the upgrade.

I will be working on enabling it once the upgrade is complete - in other words, once all the glitches are ironed out and the forum is running correctly

Hi, my home page has changed. My picture is no longer there and neither are the links to new responses to my posts  or to unread threads. Thanks  for your help. The new site looks great!

I *think* you need to click the little drop down arrow in the top right hand corner (next to 'simple machines forum').

Can someone tell me how to fix the time again? I did go to try to offset it but the current time saus 20:something...and I am so embarrassed to say I have no idea what time that is!  So then can't do the plus or minus...?

Thank you Rachel....I did that...(and I did click on save or modify or whatever at the bottom when done!) but still see the time as 20 something....it used to have my real time...like say 4:05pm....it still doesn't?

Anne, it's in military time.  I *think* you need to change the time format to the am/pm option....

Ok, so it's no longer military time ( I knew that's what it was...just so you don't think I'm a COMPLETE moron!) but it does say 11pm, when it is only 6pm here.  I put in -5 and it doesn't change it.

Well, my time is actually in EST and non-military for the first time in forever, so that helped me!  That's odd Anne b/c it says it "auto detects" it, no?  Maybe Tom has some thoughts on that.
