I have two things I am dealing with for my five month old. Sorry so long, but I REALLY need help.
#1 - I need to get him to fall asleep on his own
#2 - I would like to establish the EASY routine with him
Which do I start first, or do I do it all at once?
Today started out great....
7:30 - 8:00 - wake up and bf
8:00 - 9:00 - play
9:00 - up to nursery to get into a relaxing mode, listening to soft music in the nursery, and rocking on my lap in the rocking chair
9:30 - attempt one - put him down drowsy in the crib. As soon as that happened he immediately woke up and looked at me and started screaming. I picked him up and reassured him and put him back down. He continued screaming, so I picked him up and rocked him in the chair on my lap once more.
9:45 - attempt two and three - drowsy and down in crib, once again he became fully awake and screaming
9:50 - decide to let him cry it out...at my wits end This time he screams, freaks out even more and has the hardest cry I have ever heard him utter.
10:00 - I bf to make sure he isn't hungry, he takes a whole one
10:15 - falls asleep in my arms
10:20 - put him down in the crib and this is where I am right now
I feel terrible....can anyone lend some advice. Oh yah, and the third thing is his naps are only 45 min long at best (another hurdle we have to fix).
So do I start the EASY first, or get him to fall asleep on his own first?
Help!
