IŽd love to get my daughter (16 mo) started with a bedtime story, but so far reading seems to excite her rather than calm her down! We usually sing a few songs before going to bed; any comments/suggestions/experiences?

How about fairy tales that you know off by heart? This way she won't be distracted by the book. Hunter (now 3) likes the 3 little bears.
