More ESAY than EASY for 4mth twins
« on: March 17, 2014, 12:38:54 pm »
Hi just need some advise about how to get my twins eating after sleep not before. They are not using the bottle to get to sleep (or any other prop) its just because they have one or two night feeds still they are not hungry enough on waking in the morning to take their feed. Here is what their routine looks like normally:

7am wake
E 8am about 150ml, feeding both off an on till 8.45
S. 8.5 - 9.35/9.45
E 11am up to about 180ml till about 12 normally
S 12/12.15 one twin will normally sleep for 2 /2 1/2 hrs the other wakes after 45 mins - 1 hr with a pooh on the way! this twin will normally go back to sleep after an hr for 45 mins / 1 hr
E 2 - 3.30 feed 180 ml
S then another 45 main nap somewhere around 3.45 - 5 ish with a
E 4/ 5pm feed of 150 ml
bedtime is started at 6.15 taking about 240 ml and they are normally asleep by 7 - 7.30pm

one of the twins sometimes wakes just once at somewhere between 3-5am
but normally both wake about 1-2 am and then again at 5-6 am taking 180 ml at each feed, they wake crying and are genuinely hungry so I don't think I can attempt to get them back to sleep with out a feed.

Am I right in thinking a dreamfeed would be the answer? though from experience with my other two this just makes them wake up 4 hrs afterwards   though I think it did work in the end.
any ideas much appreciated

Hi, sorry you seemed to get missed.

At 5-6, when they wake, will they go back to sleep with a smaller feed?  You might try that. Or else, I'd just give the first feed when they wake at 7 but it might be enough to get them through to the next one.
