Title: Milk amounts, back at work.
Post by: Skadiver13 on September 23, 2016, 11:29:16 am
Milk amounts? I am back at work now and so no longer BF 7 times a day. Delaney refuses a bottle from my morning nanny so has 3 bottles at day care.
9,12,3. I get home around 5 and feed her by 530/6 but she only eats for 4/5 min.  Then again at 645 before  bed for 2/3 min  Again only a small amount. Then a DF at 10, and she wakes about 4.

Currently doing
4am (she wakes for it)
Bottles 9,12,3 (was 4oz upped it to 5)
530 (1/2 feed)
645 (1/2 feed)
10

I did the DF at 11 and i had to wake her at 5 to feed her before I left. So my question is if she can sleep that long do I drop a feed? I don't know that she's getting enough during the day? Id like to drop the  DF and sleep more but she does take a full feed at that time.

It is of course up to you but I wouldn't drop the DF if she is still having a NF and you want to get rid of that. If however you prefer to just do the NF then you can certainly try.

If she is having 15oz from the 3 bottles in total then I'd say that plus 3 other BFs would be plenty. 19-30oz is the normal range for daily intake and average (for a 1-6mo is about 25oz. I'm sure she could get that from all her feeds.

So just keep it the way it is I guess? I did forget to mention that a few times I have fallen asleep before the dream feed and not woken up and she still slept until 4 o'clock. I guess I'd rather get rid of the dream feed before the middle of the night.

Drop the DF then if that works better for you and she doesn't wake for it.
