funny food negotiations
« on: August 10, 2010, 23:06:55 pm »
So, my almost 3 yo requested her current favorite snack of apple dippers for about the 6th day in a row (don't judge me, I serve it with sugar free caramel  :).  I told her no apple dippers until she had some dinner (I was willing to give in for a measly 2 chicken nuggets since she is a light eater).  Cue the meltdown.  For 10 minutes we went back and forth with her comments including"No, I don't like that trick" to her sly suggestion that I give her apple dippers now and after she takes her "nap" (i.e. sleeps all night), she will eat the chicken tomorrow.

Problem solved by cutting both chicken and apple up into bite size pieces and serving with toothpicks.  When DH and I sit down to dinner she can have the remaining caramel sauce with some carrots.

What is the funniest food negotiation you have ever had with your toddler?
