I've had vomiting and diarrhea since yesterday afternoon and I can't keep anything down at all :(. I'm still feeding Medi 4x a day and once most nights. So far she seems ok, but I'm feeling very weak. I know if she gets ill I should keep feeding her, but will not eating or drinking affect my supply?
-
You'll be ok for a few days I'm sure. I've done this a few times. It might have a slight, short term effect but I'm sure it will recover quickly as soon as you start eating again.
Make sure you are still drinking plenty though. That is really important to stop yourself getting dehydrated.
Get well soon vibes ~~~~~

Every time I drink some water I'm sick :( but I will keep trying. Thanks
-
Just water could be too hard for your stomach, maybe try putting some mint in it and just sip it?
-
Yes just sip it once every minute or so rather than trying to drink too much in one go.
-
Oh no, you poor thing!!
You definitely need to keep taking TINY sips of water - or dioralyte (sp?) would be even better, if you could manage it - to replace the lost liquids and salts in your system. Even if you only manage to swirl it in your mouth, it's a help. I had a really bad tummy a while back. 3 days of being unable to keep ANYTHING in my system :-X Little Man was feeding a fair amount when I got sick too & after 3 days of nothing staying in and him feeding off me, I nearly fainted with weakness. Medi will be fine, but be sure to watch for yourself, in particular dehydration.
Feel better & mind self.

Get well soon xxx
DD has had two extended bugs that have landed us in A and E and they've always said around 2-4 tsp of dioralyte every 20 mins and keep it up for as long as poss. In such small amounts it always resulted in her rehydrating quickly and the sickness stopping.

I haven't got any dioralyte, I'll have to get some tomorrow.
I have managed to keep water down and ate an apple this afternoon. Still feeling quite rough but mostly worried the rest are going to catch it.
-
You can make your own oral rehydration stuff -- just water with sugar and salt in it -- if you google it, you can find a good recipe. (((( hugs)))) I've btdt with 2 of mine and it's really hard!

I'm feeling a bit better this morning and might try some breakfast!
-
Glad you're feeling like you might be turning a corner.
Something like really runny wheetBix for brekkie would be good - so thin it's like liquid....might be gentle enough, but sustaining enough at same time.

Get well soon!

Although I often find dairy is the worst thing to eat when you have been sick. Apparently the sickness can make you temporarily intolerant. Perhaps some toast would work well. Glad you're feeling better.
-
Yeah, I probably shouldn't have had yogurt for breakfast since I feel really sick again :(.
-
Yeah our dr told us that d & v bugs can cause temporary intolerances and to stay off of dairy for a bit. Lots of get well vibes!
-
Oh I'm so sorry Sarah for the suggestion :'( I don't "do" dairy - for milk I use OAT milk instead, so when I suggested it, I didn't even think of the fact that dairy isn't good for the system after being unwell.
Hope you're back on the mend very soon.
-
It's okay! I keep forgetting no dairy after a tummy bug, too. Tomorrow breakfast will be porridge made with water and no yogurt.
I'm still not 100%, just waiting to see if the rest get it :(

Hugs and feel better soon. xxx

Oh (((hugs))), Sarah! Hope you feel much better soon an that it skips the rest of the family! :-* :-*

Hope you are feeling better, and nobody else got sick. It's not fair that mums get sick, we should be exempt!
