almost 11 months/2 bottles? or 3?
« on: December 18, 2006, 13:32:50 pm »
My DS will be 11 months 01/03.  We dropped to 3 bottles about a month or so ago.  He has been consistently refusing or only drinking about 1 or 2 oz in the am.  I give him his bottle 1st and then breakfast about 45 minutes later (goes to babysitter and eats there).  Should I start maybe feeding him breakfast instead of bottle and then maybe offer the bottle before nap?
Routine now
7 bottle (1-3oz)
8 breakfast
10ish juice
12 lunch
3 bottle (4oz)
5 dinner
6:30 bottle (7 oz)

my ds seems to be doing ok with the milk but the last few days not eating a stitch of solid food and waking in the night so i have been feeding him 5oz in the night as he must be a little hungry, i think we ahve more teeth on the way,

At 11 months, ds was on 2 bottles.  Morning and Bedtime.  I think it was 16 oz total-8oz each bottles.

Just be sure he is getting calcium from cheese, yogurt etc.

HTH! ;)

We stopped the AM bottle at 12 months and the Bedtime Bottle at 17 months.  So currently, DS is not on bottles.

We switched to 2 bottles at 10 months as our DS was refusing his afternoon bottle.

If you go to 2 bottles, I would definitely up his calcium intake to ensure that he gets enough calories throughout the day.  This can include milk in cereal and cooking, yogurts, cheeses, custards etc.

Hi my DD is 10 mo. and has 3 bottles - I give a bottle before sleep as part of the wind down (I think that's a BW no-no :-[ , but it works for me...)

7:30 wake
8:30 Breakfast (solids with water in cup)
10:00 bottle (6oz) & nap
11:15 wake
12:30 lunch (solids with water in cup)
2:30 bottle (6 oz) & nap
3:45 wake
5:00 dinner (solids with water in cup)
7:30 bath, bottle (8 oz) & bed

I have been giving her cows milk in the bottle sometimes - she does fine with it...

Sorry - forgot to add that we went to no bottle after she woke up in the am a few weeks ago as she wasn't drinking much (<2oz) - was worried about not feeding her breakfast right away, but she doesn't seem to want to eat, so I wait an hour....

Same here.  It was the am bottle that he was refusing so now we are doing a bottle after the first nap and then one at night and sometimes a little milk before dinner, it just depends.  I don't think my DS will have a problem not having a bottle, he seems to be dropping them himself.   :)
