Is this too much food?
« on: January 31, 2006, 01:36:16 am »
I know that most of the time, the problem is picky eaters.  I also know that usually a baby cannot eat too much.  My dd is almost 10 months and just started walking.  She drinks 24 oz. of formula a day and up to 6 oz. of diluted juice or water a day.  Recently her appetite has skyrocketed (even more than normal as she has always been a healthy eater).  Is this too much formula at this age?  Should I encourage her smaller meals instead of 3 meals and a snack?  Am I just worrying too much?

Since she was about 3 months, she has been in the 90th percentile for height and weight.  I know that doesn't mean she will always be like that and I am very thankful I have a healthy baby!

24 oz is fine for a 10 month old baby.  Her appetite has probably increased due to her increased activity.  However, I would skip the juice if possible as it has no nutritional value and just adds calories.  What does she eat by way of solids?  And how much?
