1st birthday party favour ideas

Not to sure where to post this? But i need some info from some mommies!~ My son will be 1 in December and I am trying to order some things for his birthday party. I need some ideas for party favors for a 1 year olds party. People always give candy bags to bring home and it's not practical considering the kids at the party will range from 8 months to 3 years. I want a neat idea of something homemade or that babies can eat? Any ideas?

What about a christmas orniment...or a kit that they could make their own orniment...oops if you and you guest celebrate christmas.
A make your own snowman kit...the Christmas tree shops have them for pretty cheap.
Ginger bread cookies in the shape of 1.
Again...if your guests celebrate christmas and it is close to christmas and you want to encorparate christmas into your party...a letter from santa.  You can get them online.  You can get them sent to their house, at this young age children shouldnt expect a goodie bag or you could give cookies and the letter.
