Hi everyone - I'm back. Actually I've been reading since Sunday night, just haven't had a chance to fully read and then write. But now I'm up to date. As we said early on in the 'rules' we don't have to comment on everyone's happenings, so as soooo much has happened, I won't. But I've certainly thought about comments all the way thru. The cute photos, the understanding of night wakings, the cold temperatures I can't quite comprehend, I can only imagine, the list goes on.
Big news here, we have our first tooth! Woke up Saturday morning and the grandparents house and there it was. Although it's crooked! I hope it straightens out, it's pointing inwards if that makes sense. Won't look very good in those toothy photos later, but hey, at least he's got one!
Also, we've discovered that we think Daniel needs a bed time of about 7.30pm to sleep past 5am. However in saying that, since having it work for the last 4 mornings, thismorning he woke at 5.15am again. I'm hoping it's just a slight hitch in in the pattern and he'll go back to 6.30am - 7.15am that he has been doing. It's harder having him up an hour longer at night, but much better in the mornings. Daniel's naps have all got moved out a little accordingly, so he's still only awake the same length of time, but I think his body clock is still not working 'right' and is a little confused in the afternoon. Anyway, I'll keep at it a little bit longer and see how he goes. If he continues waking again early I'll change it back. But I do know they can regress.
DH came home last Friday and we drove to Wellington that night. We spent from 10.30am until about 2.00pm in the garden at our rental property on Saturday, then decided we'd pay someone to do the rest. We did a big chunk of it, but didn't want to spend the whole weekend there. Especially as I've still got a blocked nose and DH was tired from work. So we enjoyed the rest of our weekend by relaxing. DH went off again Monday morning for the week, so it's just Daniel and I again. He's back on Thursday or Friday though, then only a couple of days at work next week, then he's on holiday for about 3-4 weeks. YAY!!!!!
We're not planning on going or doing anything inparticular, due to finances really, so no idea what we'll get up to. I've said I don't want the holiday to be just the same as every other day of my life at the moment staying at home, and that I want to do some 'exploring' around the area. Fine for him, he wants to be at home cause he always goes away. So hopefully we'll find a compromise and do something a little different while he's off.
I haven't done my cards yet sorry ladies. I hope to do so soon. I feel really behind with everything at the moment, I think the cold that's still lurking is draining my motivation for anything much. I've also got a pile of washing to get rid of, housework to do, cooking for Daniel etc all waiting for me. I think I'll get onto it today, make it my goal for the day.
As for food, Daniel's doing really well. I had a look at that planner that Traci attached. That's all well and good, but there's no way Daniel would eat that much (I don't think). Although I've noticed if I give him veges, then once he closes his mouth to say no, sometimes he'll take some fruit. But I've also read you shouldn't always give them fruit after veges as they end up not eating veges and waiting for fruit. So do you give it at the same time??? I made some spaghetti bolognaise for D yesterday. I'll try him with it today. Didn't add the spaghetti though, I guess I should have.
 At least I've finally made a meat dish to give him with his veges. I've borrowed a really good recipe book from a friend so I'm going to try to make lots of meals from it. For you Kiwi / Aussie mum's it says we can give cherio's/cocktail sausages at 8-9 months as a snack. Says you can freeze them. Just peel skins before giving to them. So I might give that a go next time I go shopping.
Okay, enough from me. I'll try and keep up now.
