Should we wake baby for Activity after feed
« on: February 17, 2007, 15:53:54 pm »
Hello Everyone,
My wife and I are trying to use the E.A.S.Y. method and so far Mikey (our 6 week old) is not cooperating. We feed him (35 to 40 minutes on both breasts) and when he is done he is showing all the signs of being sleepy. Should we wake him up for Activity or let him sleep?

hi and welcome :)

sure he's not 'cooperating' if he's used to sleep after feed. but yes, you should keep him awake after the feeds. that's the idea of EASy, they eat, play and sleep and in this particular order. here are some links for you about startig your baby on EASY

Welcome to the boards!

Keep in mind that at this age, "activity" may be something as simple as a diaper change.  With a long feeding time, it leaves little time for "activity".

Proud to have breastfed for a combined total of 35 months

Thank you for your response. I was unable to access the linked posts for some reason. But your response alone was extremely helpful. Thank you again.
