bottles amongst food
« on: May 02, 2010, 05:04:24 am »
Hi

Tyler is in the process of being weaned but i'm confused as how to work it in between his 4 hour bottles as at the moment he's waking at night which i think is due to the way i'm currently working it.  So if he has bottles at 7, 11, 3 and then feed at 7 where would his food fit in ?  Would it mean breakfast at 7 (which is fine), but where would lunch go ?  Am i doing this all wrong and should just be concentrating on mealtimes and supplement with bottles or the other way around ?

Thanks

Sarah

I did breakfast around 8am, lunch at 12pm and dinner at 5pm.  I kept the milk times the same as before and slotted the mealtimes in between.

We did the same as PP. Milk needs to come first and solids about 1/1.5 hours after a milk feed. Don't forget solids are not their main source of nutrition until much closer to a year and all their main nutrients are from milk so if they are not eating much at first it's fine. Solids are part of their A time at first rather than "meals" as such.

HTH!
