DD has transitioned to 3 1/2 to 4 hours EASY, and I had increased my milk supply by feeding on one side, then the other side and back to the first side for a few days. Once I went back to single side feeding, my milk supply went back down, and at work, I am pumping between 3 1/2 to 4 ounces of milk. Do you think she is getting enough to be on 3 1/2 -4 hour EASY? I'm asking because she has started waking at night, and I'm wondering if she is not getting enough milk during the day....Should I start feeding her on both sides again? When would I switch back to single side feeding?

Hi Katia,
How long have the night wakings been going on? Could she be growth spurting?
Does she seem hungry before 4 hours? Many babies don't make it to a 4 hour EASY, rather they stay at 3 or 3.5.
Moving from single side to double side feeding is quite common around this age. You want to be sure she has emptied the first breast before switching to the second. You might not get back to single side feeds, just be sure to always start on the opposite breast your started with the feed before.

I don't know. She may be growth spurting, perhaps not. The last few nights have been pretty erratic (a 4:00, a 2:30, a 1:30). But before that, it was pretty consistent 4 am....this is all so confusing :) My DS slept through the night from the time he was 8 weeks old, so this is so new for me, and EXHAUSTING :P
The wakings started around August 9, so we're looking at almost two weeks!
