Title: Expert nurser at 5 weeks???
Post by: rebecaq on October 31, 2007, 16:51:16 pm
Boy, I feel like a newbie  ::)  I swear it's like I never bf before, and for 9 months at that  :P

So, here I go AGAIN....

Julian has been nursing for 5 mins for 2 days now, and last night only 3 or 4 sucks at each waking and then back into a deep sleep. I would undress him, change his diaper, turn the light on, everything possible to wake him up and he was "dead to the world". His diapers are soaking wet, had a HUGE bm yesterday morning (hasn't had one today yet) and sleeping well during his naps. Some feedings are 10 mins MAX, like thte last one he had, but the first feed of the morning was 5 mins also.

Could he really be an expert nurser at only 5 weeks? Or could something be going on?? If he barely sucks at night, should I try soothing him with the paci to see if it's just suckling that he needs?

Good lord I feel confused :P :P :P

hi Beca- with Maja I had absolutely no problems with BFing her and she also was an 'expert nurser' really really fast so maybe that's it for Julian as well? and if he doesn't want to eat at night- than yeeeey for him and for you and I'd surely try the paci or pat/shush to see if he is or is not really hungry.

Thanks guys!

I have to say it was just weird that he went to nursing so efficiently so young!
