Title: 18 mn 2-1 swich not long enough
Post by: nilly on April 28, 2008, 02:59:55 am
well our little guy LOVES sleep, so i will not complain there (he is 18 months). up till now, he generally sleeps 2 naps for at least 1:20 each, and 11-12 hours at night. i am due in 8 weeks, and thought as his nights are getting a bit shorter, maybe i would try the switch. i just went cold turkey, cause he is usually a testbook/angel baby. first time, he slept 2 1/2hours and woke up happy. today, he only slept 1 1/2 which is not enough for him. my question is: will this just sort it self out with time, once his body realises that there is only one nap coming? he already has dark cirlces under his eye from 2 days :( he is ok when awake, i just want him to be gettingthe sleep he needs.

thanks to anyone who read this, and for any advice you might have!

nilly, you are best to have a 2nap day every now and then when you first start the transition.  For some it's an instant thing, but for many it takes some time to get a decent nap everyday.  ON those short nap days, put him to bed an hour or so earlier.
