Title: fennel tea, anyone noticed a difference in their LO?
Post by: marimul77 on May 23, 2008, 16:40:37 pm
Hello,

Someone recommended fennel tea to help with gassiness in my DD. Has anyone out there tried some and did it work? Does it work better if I drink it or can i give it to her, and how much?

Thanks,

Marianne

Hi Marianne,
I currently have the fartmaster of the universe living in my house. I didn't try fennel tea, but I am using Gripe Water by Little Tummys, which is basically fennel and ginger (those are the only two things on the ingredient list). He's still very gassy, but he's passing it and is so much more comfortable. Before he couldn't pass it and it would build up in his tummy and he would wake all the time grunting. This is the only thing I've found that worked. So try the fennel tea. It can't hurt and might help. Try you taking it first, if no good then give it right to baby. I'd say if you don't see results within a day or two it probably isn't going to work. With DS, we saw (and heard, and smelled! ;) ) results within 3 or 4 feeds of taking the gripe water. Good luck!! I know gas can throw a major monkey wrench into the routine.
