Is that okay?
Growth Percentile Calculator
Length = above percentile 95
Weight = between percentile 10 and 25
Head Circumference = between percentile 75 and 90
He looks rather skinny to me just now :-\

You know, I think Riley has probably only gained about 8 lbs in the last 2 years!!!!!!
He is perfectly healthy though.
Are you worried about something, or is it just that the numbers seem low to you?
-
Natalie's been at 30 pounds for nearly a year now, but she's gotten taller and stretched out a LOT!!! And nobody can convince me that she's a scrawny little weakling! :P
If Scotty is getting lots of good protein, good carbs, and good fats, along with maybe some good vitamin supplements, then maybe he's doing the same thing.
Are either you or Jamie tall?
-
Is he more active?
You know Jalyn... she's a peanut and her length is definitely a higher % than her weight (considering she dropped off the charts for weight ;) )
-
are those scotty's stats or luke's??
L grew 4 inches in the past year & only gained half a pound. he's put on more weight in the last couple months but he's definitely thin. and since he doesn't stop eating i suspect he's about to grow again.
if those are his normal stats, he's likely fine. did the dr say anything?

He is so picky :-\
For breakfast he has one (full fat) yoghurt.
Snack would be fruit.
Lunch is meat and two veg or meat and pasta and one veg. He only eats the pasta and the veg, never meat.
Then vegetables for snack, if I am lucky he will eat a piece of cake, but much prefers green stuff.
Dinner is half a sandwich and milk (full fat).
And diluted fruit juice throughout the day, but not too much and not before meals...
Doctor said he is "just" alright, but very active... He seems to just grow but never gain weight.

If you're concerned, you may want to add some good fat to his diet. Coconut oil is good for cooking in or you can give it by the spoonful. Nordic Naturals makes a REALLY yummy fish oil that DOES NOT taste like fish - it's fruit-flavored! Really!!! And it mixes well with yogurt too for a really tasty treat. Coconut in general has good fats, as does avocado and guacamole if you can find it. :) Oh, and REAL butter on the veggies is YUMMY!!!!! :)

Ryan hasn't gained any weight for months but is getting taller! He is around 32lbs.
You saying about the meat, does he eat it ever? My Mum never liked the taste of meat and was pretty much a vegetarian from the get go, could Scotty be that?
-
Thanks for the advice, deb :-* :-* :-*
Sharon, he doesn't eat any meat. It's not really the texture, it's also the taste.
Pity :-\

Steffi - I put everything into Lisi's diet that I take out of mine, that yogurt with extra cream added being a biggy (Weihenstephan make a good one) also if she's really not eaten alot I can smuggle in Kolener schmelzflocken into milk without her noticing. It's melting oatmeal designed to drink.
My dh was 20kg at 8 years old - his ped at the time wasn't too worried, you can't force feed and he's not going to starve himself. Ok in theory, but I so know how it is to worry about your child's weight.

Yeah, he LOVES beans ;D
His favourite dish is potatoes, spinach and scrambled egg (it's traditional here, it is yummy and does work) so he gets protein that way, too.
Thanks Stacy.
The kids are tall and skinny, too. Not too healthy though :-\
Maybe that's why I am anxious...

Steffi, was he by any chance a big gainer the first year? Riley was, he was over 30lbs by a year. And now he is about 39lbs, I think at the last check just a month or two ago. At his 2 year check, I was shocked he had not gained much at all in an entire year, but his paed explained that at his age, they look for other things as signs of good health and growth, such as continuing to meet milestones, developing social skills, good hair and nail growth, tone of skin etc. Riley has a terrible sweet tooth, I am sure he would weigh more if I gave him things like cookieds etc., but I chose not to, only on rare occasions as a special treat. I want him to continue to eat healthful choices. I would much rather he eat a banana that has 90 cals than a cookie that has 110 cals for example.

Oh I can relate. DD is almost 4 and only weigh 30lbs. She gained 3lbs in the last 11 mos. Her dr is not too concern just told us to keep feeding her full fat. But I still worry as ds is slowly gaining on her weightwise.

If he is not keen on meat I would add all the iron rich foods you can like beans and pulses and just add a little meat to see if he will eat it. I find Ryan loves Chicken above all else! Perhaps mince meat in pastas he may prefer cos its small?
