for the past 2 days B has been having a horrible time going to sleep for his nap. he woke 2 days in a row at night, then that stopped and 2 days later he started to not go to sleep when we put him down for his nap. he finally fell asleep at 3:20 yesterday and we had to wake himabotu an hour later to save bed time. today has been the same ting, it is 2:40 and he is awake standing by his gate. he has been in his room for a hour now. is this a sign that something needs to be changed? last night he slept from 8:00ish -7:30. advice?

This is about the time that DS's sleep requirement started dropping from 13 hours to 12.5 or 12 hours. First he fought bedtime for a while, then he started skipping naps. Our solution was to shorten his night, so we wake him every morning to ensure that he'll nap.

my DS has been skipping naps too....and then has been a bear to deal with the rest of the day; I am wondering if his routine needs tweaking too.
It seem sthat throughout my entire preganncy, he gradually needs less and less sleep (as I need more and more). WE are down to 11 hours at night; but he will still skip naps---so maybe we need to go down to 10 hours??

10.5 hours was magic for us

can you adjust the nap time too? or only bed time. DH would rather cut the nap, but I don't want to cut it if he needs that more. It would be easier for me as I am home at night by myself, but I wanted to ask first.

Yes, I think you can if it works for him. My DS is always super crabby if I wake him from a nap, but okay to be woken from a nap. I'd just try to match your target sleep total to what seems to be his new sleep requirement.
