Ok, I am shocked.
DD is on Enfamil AR for reflux. Today we thought we would try offering her some cows milk to see how she does as her formula is thickened for reflux.
Well I gave her the bottle, she grabbed it out my had put it in her mouth, took a sip, looked at me with this filthy look on her face and threw the bottle across the room ::) (she has it on cereal no problems).
Tried again in nursery and she would not touch it. Offered her a bottle of formula at bedtime and she drained 9oz ::) ???
Guess I am going to have to mix cows milk and formula and slowly reduce the formula and see how she does with it.
So weird how kids are so different. DS loved cows milk and did not notice the switch at all.

LOL im having exactly the same prob with dd2 ::)
She has LI but is doing well on cheese so i thought id grab the bull by the horns and try cows milk.......i got the same filthy look and the cup thrown back at me lol lol :P
-
LOL, sounds like you have a diva like mine :P ::)
-
oh yes definetly :P ::)

Sounds like life here too. Paige guzzled cow's milk (still does) and Jalyn took a looonnnngggg time to finally accept it. Since she was good with yogurts and cheese, I didn't push it, just kept offering it and one day she decided it wasn't so bad after all. She still prefers water most of the time, but will drink milk too.

Shay was the same. In fact he won't have milk as a drink but drinks it out the bowl when he's eaten all his cereals ::) I did put a very little bit og honey in it and gradually decreased that. That seemed to work. But then we had the whole teeth issue ::)
-
Abi will eat yogurts until it comes out of her ears. She was eating her dinner at Nannies today, and she saw her yogurt inthe bag. Well all hell broke lose cause she wanted the yogurt and threw all her food on the floor ::)

Are you trying it in a bottle? If you are, do you think she's expecting her normal milk, and it's a disappointment to her that it's different?
How about trying it in a cup - maybe even get her excited about a new cup, with a special shopping trip for it?
-
Thanks Caroline. Yes I did it in the bottle, not quite ready to get rid of the bottle just yet - she is quite attached to it.
We did do the shopping trip and new cup a little while ago. She loves her cups, I put milk in it she takes a sip of it and spits it out :-\ Put water in it and she will drink it all.

I say just give it time... Katie took a while to get into it - I started her off with 50/50 EBM and cows milk - and even then she would only take a little bit - I didnt push it as she was eating masses of yoghurt and cheese - then all of a sudden she got into the cows milk when she was about 18 months old and now drinks 15-20 oz a day!

Callie took a while too Paula :)
Has taken tonnes and tonnes of water from her sippy for ages but it took a wee while to get her to take milk from it.
I introduced milk in sippy at meal times for about a month before replacing a bottle with cow's milk. When we decided to offer cow's milk in morning instead of the bottle, we offered it in a sippy. She didn't want it like that, sitting on my knee like she does with the bottle BUT is happy to have it in a sippy with breakfast :)
Hang in there! LOL @ her throwing it across the room. She is a monster!
-
I will definitely keep on offering it in the sippy with meals, as I so want to be done with bottles.
Will see how it goes.
Hang in there! LOL @ her throwing it across the room. She is a monster!
LOL yup, she is a royal pain in the behind.
