Hi,
I have a 14 month old who has been sleeping in his own room and bed since 3 months. We will be going on vacation for about 2 weeks to 2 different places/states. What should I do for his sleeping arrangements? We have been on vacation before and his sleeping with us, Mommy and Daddy, was not too good. In one area, Jackson, MS (U.S.A.) I have not been able to find a place the rents cribs. Please help.

We take a pack-n-play with us and our 20 mos old sleeps in that. Are you staying in hotels? Most hotels will provide cribs for free if you request it in advance. We also find that Abby sleeps better if we put her crib/pack-n-play in the bathroom when we're staying in a hotel - that way she can go to bed at 7:30 and we don't have to :)

Definitely check w/your hotel. Are you going there to visit friends? They may know someone who could loan you a portable playpen/pack and play. We usually put our son in his in the closet and leave the door open about halfway-- it gives him the quiet and darkness he needs and gives us a bit more freedom in how late we stay up.

I would also suggest a pack n play. they fold up nice so if you are flying you can check it. You can probably borrow one from a friend or someone you are visiting could borrow one. If you do buy or borrow one at home you might want to set it up and let him nap in there for a few days so he is used of it.
