Title: 3.5% milk...
Post by: Ashton & Raine's Mom on January 10, 2009, 05:16:15 am
Hi, I'm just wondering when to switch my 2 1/2 year old from homog. milk to 2%?  Thanks, Erin.

In the UK it is ok to switch to semi-skimmed milk from the age of 2 as long as your lo is having a good varied diet (but you dont have to as full fat milk is fine too). I assume that our full fat milk is your 3.5% and our semi-skimmed is your 2% milk. It may vary from place to place though as to what the recommendation is.

In Canada, it's the same.  Whole milk (3.25%) till 2yrs with a varied diet.  DD is still on whole milk b/c she loves the taste better and she is small for her age.  I don't mind as she still eats a good varied diet.
