Title: Complete Milk Refusal
Post by: * Paula * on March 31, 2009, 20:03:50 pm
So DD has been pretty poorly over the past few weeks, with a gastro bug, thrush on her tongue, a throat infection, thrush on her tongue again and another strep throat infection and Teething too.

She has never drank her milk from a cup which I am not too worried about at the moment, but she is even starting to refuse her milk from a bottle now too.

Before getting sick she was having milk in the morning and before bed, and she is refusing both of them now.

I am not really sure what to do.  Even with pain meds / teething gels for the teething she is still refusing.  Tried different temperatures and nothing.  Even tried the cup too, and still nothing.

Any ideas  ??? :-*

Am I imagining this, Paula, or did Tom give up milk when he was a young toddler too?

Michelle, he did give up milk at a very young age, but he has and never was a fan of his milk, and always drank towards the lower end.

Abi on the other hand has been a milk gannit since she was tiny.  I managed to get some into her this evening, but not this morning :-\

Paula, all of these things tend to put LOs off milk, even just one at a time much less one on top of the other. ;)  I'd keep offering and just let her come around when she's ready. Will she eat other dairy like cheese or yogurt in the meantime?

Thanks ladies. :-*

Jess, yes Abi does eat yogurts and cheeses, she probably eats her quota for the day in just cheese and yogurts.  She loves both of them and would continue eating them if you let her.

Stacy, thanks for that I will definitely look for a lactose free milk and give it a try.

Thanks again ladies.
