Title: milk intake: How much after 1 yr old
Post by: Doj on April 20, 2009, 19:44:10 pm
I am sure that this post is somewhere, but I can't seem to find it.

Just wondering what the milk or dairy intake should be for a toddler over 1.
I have a 15 mth old and a 3yr and I want to make sure that they are getting enough.

In Canada it is recommended children 1-5 yo get 2 servings of diary (milk, cheese, yogurt, calcium fortified beverage, cream sauce, etc).  A serving could be:

Milk and Alternatives

Milk or powered milk (reconstituted)
250 mL (1 cup)

Canned milk (evaporated)
125 mL (½ cup)

Fortified soy beverage
250 mL (1 cup)

Yogurt
175 g (¾ cup)

Cheese
50 g (1 ½ oz.)
