Title: Been sick...routine is a mess....PLEASE HELP!
Post by: redheadhollie on February 18, 2010, 17:22:00 pm
My 4 month old son has been sick and our routine is crazy. His naps are very short and he's waking multiple during the night now. The past two mornings he has had a good nap, both being about 1.5 hours, but all of his other naps are 30-45 minutes. He was on a very good 3 hr EASY, but we can't seem to get back on track. Can anyone suggest how to help get him back on track now that he is starting to feel better. Thanks!

If he is 4 months old do you think it is time to move to the 4 hour EASY? I only started on the 4 hour one so can't advise on the best way to do it although the BW book does have guidance.  Glad DS is on the mend, it's horrible when they are ill and feels never-ending xx

I started transitioning him to a 3.5 hr easy, but I think he currently is hitting a growth spurt because he seems to want to eat alot so I went back to 3 hr. I'm hoping after a few days of getting more to eat it will start to work itself out again.

Fingers crossed for you.  As soon as things seem to be going smoothly something like a growth spurt or illness seem to happen.  Keeps life interesting I suppose!!  You have the right attitude, just go with the flow and get back on track when you LO seems ready.  Good luck :) If you post your routine etc I am sure someone could suggest some things to help.  Is your LO bottle or breastfed?  My DS was breastfed and at times had more milk  in between the suggested times but I tried to stick roughly to the times/routine and it worked some days and other days were a bit pear-shaped!
