Title: what age to change to size 2 teat?

Hi love!

We've just switched to Level 2 on our Dr Browns b/c Jack was taking AGES to finish his bottle when he used to be so quick! On the box it says 3-6 months ... but J is only 2 1/2 months...

DS has been so fussy today with the bottle, I was just wondering if that was the problem.
He definitely takes longer than with the Tommee Tippee bottles.

May try tomorrow if he's the same.

Had a nightmare day here with feeding and sleeping, DH trying to settle now....going to be a long night. Not had more than about 7 hours sleep over the last two days so feeling the pain now!

Oh bless ya! You are having a rough time of it these last 8 weeks!!! :(      {{HUGS}}

May be worth a try switching to Level 2. It took our Jack several days to get the hang of it, but he's getting better! Gets through the bottle faster, definitely! We did it initially for the dream feeds, as DH didn't have the patience! :)

Kim, just wanting some info further to your last post if i may? My little (big!) guy is almost 9 weeks and not feeding as much as he should be as he is a lazy sucker with a poor latch on his bottles (had a tongue tie but fixed now) and takes FOREVER to finish his dr browns bottles on level 1 teat, i tried a level two today for a feed and he struggled with the flow a bit but wasnt gagging more just spilling out around his mouth...my question is - did you get this when you first went to level 2and if so how long did it take for your guy to get the hang of it?  thanks :)

We got some spillage the first time we tried the number 2.
The next time we tried, I made sure that the bottle teat was tight against his mouth...does that make sense? Not that I was shoving it down his throat, but just really supporting it...

We didn't get any spillage then. My DS is 9 weeks also.
He got the hang of it quite quickly.

Hi Tanna! Same as Leanne, really - took us a few days, but he's really got the hang of it! Bet it's the same with yours - he just needs to learn that more milk is going to come with each suck and how to deal with that!
